Omni Agent War: Samsara

The agents learned to read the trucks direct.

You charged agents per request to read Samsara data. Agents compare costs on every call, and the new trucks come with feeds of their own.

The CFO: Agent revenue tripled in a quarter! Every robot pays to look! And robots never ask for a discount!

OMNI: NOT SO FAST! A meter on looking? Then I'll ask the truck. Factory feeds don't send invoices.

By spring, agents read the new trucks directly and route around the old ones. Bain Capital takes Samsara private at 1.3x revenue.

The Buyer: 1.3x revenue. We'll keep the meter running. Somebody always forgets to switch theirs off.

Outcome: Lost as a feature

Agents used Samsara because it was open. A charge to read your data gave them a reason to read the trucks' own feeds instead.
